Where to Find the Spade in Kingdom Come: Deliverance

As part of one of the first quests in Kingdom Come: Deliverance, the new hit RPG from Warhorse Studios, you’ll have to locate a spade in order to dig a couple of graves. This can be difficult, as you don’t receive a waypoint for where to find this shovel, and it could take you a while to run around and locate it in the dark.

Where to Find the Spade

Locating the spade or shovel in Skalitz is simple, so long as you know where it is. After you make your way into Skalitz, and once the cutscene ends, you will hear a dog barking to the western side of the village, opposite the tavern. The dog is located right next to the spade, so weave your way through the wrecked buildings until you spot the animal.

You will enter another cutscene, where you must confront another resident of Skalitz who has returned. No matter how you handle this situation, the same result will play out later in the quest, so don’t fret too much over the nuances. Once you have the spade in hand, you will need to head up to your house on the hill, and locate the linden tree – you will find the area you need to dig in this little nook.

There are a few instances in Kingdom Come: Deliverance where you need to find an object like the spade that can be tough to track down, but the thing to remember is to check the journal and look in areas that make sense.
