Ubisoft Reveals Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition

Fans have been begging for the delisted Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World: The Game to return, and Ubisoft has obliged with a Complete Edition of this semi-lost gem of a brawler.

Sometimes when people speak loudly enough, the powers that be listen.  For nearly a year now, fans of the Scott Pilgrim universe have been begging Ubisoft to bring Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World: The Game back.  The game, which originally launched digitally in August of 2010, ended up getting delisted from all platforms in December of 2014.  That left players with no legitimate way to purchase the game, but thankfully, that’s going to change in the very near future.

All the petitions and social media chatter has panned out, as Ubisoft confirmed that Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World: The Game is coming back.  The publisher announced the game’s return at their recent Ubisoft Forward event, and it’s set to launch sometime in Holiday 2020.  This isn’t the same basic version that launched back in 2010, though.  Ubisoft is calling this re-release Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition, and it packs in some special goodies.

Scott Pilgrim and his friends strike a good pose for the cover of this game. Looks straight out of the graphic novel!

Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition, which is priced at $14.99, includes the same base game from years ago, but it also includes the Knives Chau and Wallace Wells downloadable content.  Both Knives Chau and Wallace Wells were added to the original game through two separate DLC packs, but now fans can enjoy these additional playable characters right from the start.  The original DLC packs also added features like Battle Royal and Dodge Ball modes, along with online multiplayer.  Those aspects are included in Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition as well at no additional cost.

Perhaps most important to super fans of the game, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition retains the same fantastic soundtrack from the original release.  While the game was extremely memorable for its beat’em-up action, the music took the experience to a whole new level.  The tunes were created by the chiptune-based pop and rock band Anamanaguchi, and their music is sure to keep your blood pumping and toes tapping as you’re dishing out street justice.

Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition will be available for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, Stadia, Windows PC and UPLAY+.  Just like the original, this will be a download-only release.
