For Honor 2: Leaks, Release Date News, and Latest Ubisoft Updates

For Honor continues to march on years after it first launched back in 2016 and whilst the game might not have ever achieved massive success, it continues to have a pretty active player base on PC.

The longevity of Ubisoft Montreal’s medieval fantasy action game has been quite amazing, but then it always did have a pretty solid gameplay loop underpinning the game. Even now in 2022, we’d say it’s still worth a look if you’ve never experienced it before.

That being said, some fans might be wondering if Ubisoft intends to revisit the game with a sequel, perhaps building on the original game with yet more content and perhaps a new campaign. For all you need to know about a possible follow-up, read on.

July 4 - Ubisoft will be at Gamescom 2022

Ubisoft has confirmed that the company will have a presence at Gamescom 2022.

Gamescom 2022 will take place in Cologne from August 24 to 28 and whilst we’ve yet to hear from the company about what projects it will be showing off, fingers crossed it includes a hint at For Honor 2.

June 2 - No Ubisoft Announcements in June

Ubisoft has confirmed that the publisher and its many studios won’t be attending Summer Game Fest or have its own not-E3 event. Last year the company held its own online event in Ubisoft Forward, but it seems like that won’t be returning.

Speaking with Axios the publisher confirmed that they would instead host its own event “later this year”.

Will There Ever Be A For Honor 2?

Honestly, it’s hard to say. As we’ve already mentioned, Ubisoft Montreal has continued to support the game well beyond its release and 2022 marks the 6th year of content; complete with another four unique seasons and two new outlander heroes joining the battlefield.

The developer is also best known for their work on Rainbow Six Siege, another title which has continued to grow and is currently within its seventh year of content. With the studio now leading development on the Prince of Persia Sands of Time Remake, it’s hard to see a sequel to For Honor being forthcoming anytime soon.

That being said, we certainly wouldn’t rule out the possibility, but whilst the game continues to have a healthy playerbase, we doubt the studio would look to throw it all away for a brand new product.

For Honor 2 Release Date Rumours

At the time of writing Ubisoft has not announced a sequel to For Honor. Assuming Ubisoft Montreal were to start work on a sequel, we wouldn’t expect it to arrive until the 6th year of content concludes, and likewise we imagine that it might launch as a next-gen exclusive on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

For Honor 2 Leaks

Although there’s been no official word from Ubisoft, there have been some leaks which suggest that For Honor 2 is in development in some sort of capacity.

In early 2021 there was a reported leak – published to the GamingLeaksAndRumours SubReddit – which reeled off a list of alleged factions, heroes and some possible modes for the For Honor sequel.

In all honesty, it reads slightly more like a wishlist as opposed to a genuine leak of content. Plus with so much time passing between the leak in question and the time of writing, we doubt it was genuine as we’d have expected to see some sort of reveal by now.
