Disco Elysium: Should You Arrest Klaasje

Disco Elysium: Should You Arrest Klaasje

Disco Elysium is arguably one of the best games ever made, receiving universal acclaim and numerous Game of the Year honours when it was released back in 2019.

There’s no end to the amount of positive things you can say about the debut title from independent game dev ZA/UM. It looks killer, has some excellent storytelling, and there’s plenty of replayability too.

Whilst the RPG originally launched on PC Only, it did make its way to consoles via the release of the Final Cut edition in 2021, allowing even more players to experience everything it has to offer.

If you’re only just getting around to playing this incredible game, then don’t worry, we won’t judge you. But we imagine since you’re here, you’re probably looking for some help and want to know if you should arrest Klassje in Disco Elysium. No problem, we’ve got a full guide to help you out, so read on for everything you need to know.

How Do You Arrest Klaasje In Disco Elysium

The ability to arrest Klaasje will only occur after players have completed the main task ‘Get the whole story from Titus‘.

During the investigation, Angus will admit that the Hardie Boys weren’t responsible for the death of Ellis Kortenaer. It’s at this point that Titus tells you that the handed man was in fact shot.

The next step is to confront Klaake with the Hardies’ story and if you pass a “legendary” drama check with Klaasje then you will be able to question her about the many lies she’s told you up until this point, which will give you an opportunity to arrest her

From this conversation you can earn two more side tasks; Make Titus give up Ruby’s locationInspect Klaasje’s buoy.

Eventually though,

When you finally get the chance to arrest Kim you will be given three decisions to make:

  1. – “Kim, arrest her before this drags out any longer.” (Arrest her.)
  2. – “Lets write you a Station Call, Klaaske. If you miss it – I can’t help you anymore” (Write a Station Call.)
  3. – “I’ll let you off the hook, for now. Don’t make me regret it.” (Don’t arrest her.)

If you select the first option you will arrest Kim and she will be escorted to jail by Kim, incidentally meaning she will also disappear for the reminder of the game.

Later on in the game, when talking to the deserter on the Island, you can learn – if you have at least 3 Shivers – that Coalition forces working on behalf of the Moralintern caught Klaasje while she was imprisoned.

Whilst you do not see the outcome happen, this decision likely means she was executed for her crimes. This is a bit of a downer, especially considering you’re made to think that you did the right thing by arresting her.

What happens if you don’t arrest Klaasje In Disco Elysium

Again, during your conversation with Klaasje you will be given the three options, which are:

If you decide not to arrest Klaasje you should choose either open 2 or 3.

Taking this option will anger Kim, since he’s a by-the-book kinda guy, and whatever your feelings towards Klaasje, she has clearly broken several laws. Over time, Kim will understand the decision, especially since it ultimately helps you find the real killer in the game.

Not arresting Klaasje will cause her to go on the run, never to be seen again. Before she departs, she will leave you a note and a gift inside her apartment at the Whirling-in-Rags hostel.

This ultimately makes it easier for you to complete the tasks ‘Determine Where the Shot Came From’ and ‘Inspect the Window in Klaasje’s Bedroom’.

Later on in the game, when talking to the deserter on the Island, it is implied – assuming you have at least 3 Shivers – that Klaasje escaped Martinaise and is living happily somewhere to the south.

Should you arrest Klaasje in Disco Elysium?

That’s really a judgment call only you can make, but it should be noted that arresting Klaasje won’t actually change all that much in the game.

The only advantage to arresting Klaasje is the completion of the secret task and +10 experience points. In addition, if you let Kim arrest her, you’ll also have to do without Kim working by your side for a small period of time.

So really, it’s more to do with your own moral compass and playstyle as to whether you want to see Klaaske sail off into the sunset or die in police custody; despite Km insisting she *will* be safer there for the purpose of the investigation.
