Deathloop is coming to Xbox Game Pass on September 20

Deathloop will finally make its way to to Xbox consoles when the game is released for Xbox Series S|X and PC on September 20. The Bethesda Softworks game will also be available to play via Xbox Game Pass.

Arcane Studios first-person shooter launched to critical acclaim as a timed exclusive for the PlayStation 5 at the start of the new-generation of consoles. However, its launch was surrounded by the specter of Microsoft’s acquisition of Arkane’s parent company Id Software.

News of the release was announced during Xbox’s Tokyo Game Show live stream earlier today, with Deathloop director Dinga Bakaba also revealing that the game will release a ‘Goldenloop update‘ for all platforms on the same day. Incidentally, Deathloop will be added to the PlayStation Plus service on the same day for ‘PS Plus Extra’ and ‘PS Plus Premium’ members.

For those wondering, the Goldenloop update is set to add a whole heap of new content to the game.

According to Bethesda, the Goldenloop update adds a new ability, weapon, trinkets, as well as cross-play matchmaking across PSN, Xbox, Steam, Epic and the Microsoft Store environments.

Xbox console and PC versions will also feature cross-purchase and cross-save, so if you purchase DEATHLOOP through the Microsoft Store on either Xbox or PC, you’ll be able to play it on your other Microsoft platforms and pick up right where you left off.

In addition, if you have played the game before on PlayStation 5, it might still be worth jumping back in. Bethesda say they’ve added “an extended ending for the game”, so it certainly seems like it could be worth another run to see what’s changed.
