Hispanic Heritage Month: Interview With Kickstradomis

As part of Hispanic Heritage Month, Turtle Beach is proud to celebrate and spotlight the achievements of Hispanic leaders within our own community through a series of interviews.

Today, we are proud to be featuring Kickstradomis, artist, shoe designer, YouTuber, and your favorite NBA player’s favorite customizer!

Turtle Beach: What do you think about when you hear “Hispanic Heritage Month”?

Kickstradomis: When I hear about Hispanic heritage month, it makes me think about my family and how far we have all come in this country to achieve our goals and dreams. The amount of work and dedication to become successful as a minority is not light and my aunt and uncle who raised me have set quite the example for me and my cousins.

TB: When you were growing up, who inspired you? Who inspires you today?

KICK: Goes back to question 1 for sure. My aunt and uncle overcame such adversity and showed me that anything is possible if you go for it full force!

TB: Who are some of your favorite Hispanic/Latin characters in games?

KICK: Favorite Latino/Hispanic character in a game, interesting one haha. Dominik Santiago from my fave game of all time Gears of war for sure, his story line is so awesome and def should have gotten a nod as main storyline character.

TB: How have games with diverse representation impacted you?

KICK: Being able to see the diversity in games is pretty awesome, especially as it continues to expand more and more!

TB: As someone of Hispanic/Latin heritage, what has your experience been like in the gaming community?

KICK: Being able to use my platform to not only inspire but have fun within my community and show all Latinos that success is possible definitely makes it all worth while.

TB: What is one thing you think the gaming community – from developers and publishers to content creators and fans – can do to better the efforts around diversity and inclusion, especially in gaming?

KICK: I think mainly finding ways to bring diverse communities together and making gaming more accessible to lower income areas would be amazing. When I was younger couldn’t afford to play all the awesome expensive games that were around.

TB: What do you want your impact on the world to be?

KICK: The main impact I want to have on this world and my son, is that no matter what adversity I have gone thru, with all the odds stacked against me, I overcame and made sure I put my stamp in this world as a inspiration and artist.
