Depending on how religiously you keep an eye on Grant Theft Auto rumours, you might have heard something about this latest GTA 6 rumour before.
Towards the end of last year, Rockstar released Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, a remastered collection of GTAIII, Vice City, and San Andreas, complete with enhanced visuals and gameplay. Putting aside the terrible reception and janky nature, fans spotted one fascinating anomaly in San Andreas.
Inside the “Lil Probe In” coffe shop there’s a wall filled with pictures of UFO sightings. This was a new addition for the Definitive Edition and the pictures all belong to in-game locations found in GTA V (Mount Chilliad and the Desert) or Red Dead Redemption 2 (Guarma). All but, one. The house you see above, which no-one has been able to locate. This led to some wild theories that this was actually something entirely new, potentially a clue related to GTA 6. This seemed especially pertinent given that players have long been convinced that the next game will be set in Miami.
GTA Forums user igrobar then managed to track down a real-life house in Boca Raton (located just north of Miami) that looks an awful lot like the house in question. “Rockstar is known for reimagining real-life buildings inside its fictional cities,” explained IGN‘s Joe Skrebels in a news post at the time.
This brings us to today, and claims from Rockstar insider Matheusvictorbr, who on twitter is claiming to have had it confirmed that the image in question is from GTA 6.
“After a few months, I have confirmed that this image is from the next title in the Grand Theft Auto series,” they say. “The location in-game is inspired by an American suburb, in the vicinity of Hollywood, Florida.”

Earlier this year Rockstar confirmed “active development” for the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway, but for now it remains unclear exactly how far along the game could be.
Back in 2021, known industry insider Tom Henderson announced that he’d heard from sources that Grand Theft Auto VI is launching in 2025 with two protagonists and an evolving map.
This appeared to also be corroborated by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier. Writing on Twitter Schreier suggested that “everything” Tom Henderson’s previously stated matched up with his own information. More specifically, he confirmed:
“[I don’t know] why everyone thinks that I said GTA VI was coming in 2023. Everything Tom Henderson has said about the game matches up with what I’ve heard.”
If it is to be 2025, we’ve got a good while yet before we see anything else from the game, so make do with that house for the time being.
