‘Wild Hearts’ is EA’s Monster Hunter Rival Coming February 2023

Update - Here it is!

"Master ancient tech to hunt down giant beasts. WILD HEARTS is a unique twist on the hunting genre where technology gives you a fighting chance against fearsome beasts infused with the ferocious power of nature itself. Take on these creatures alone or hunt with friends in seamless co-op.

Developed by Omega Force, the Japanese studio behind the DYNASTY WARRIORS franchise and in partnership with EA Originals, WILD HEARTS takes you on an epic adventure set in a fantasy world inspired by feudal Japan.

The hunt begins February 17, 2023."

Original Story Follows – Earlier this September Electronic Arts signed a publishing partnership with Koei Tecmo and Dynasty Warriors developer Omega Force for what was being described as the “next great hunting game”.

A few weeks later and that mystery game now has a name: ‘Wild Hearts’.

Despite revealing very little so far, EA has at least given us an inking of what to expect, describing the game as “an epic adventure set in a fantasy world inspired by feudal Japan”.

Following the reveal, a number of outlets suggested that the collaboration could be a future competitor for Capcom’s popular Monster Hunter series.

But lets not het ahead of ourselves until we get a closer look at the title in question. Thankfully, we don’t actually have that long to wait.

The publisher has today revealed that the first trailer for the game will be released later this week on September 28. If you’re wanting to set a reminder, the trailer will go live on Wednesday at 7am PT/10am ET/3pm BST.

EA will be publishing the game as part of its EA Originals label, which has previously achieved success with the likes of ‘Unravel’, ‘A Way Out’ and more recently ‘It Takes Two’.

However, unlike the titles mentioned, Wild Hearts has also been billed as a “truly AAA experience”, which sort of flies in the face of the more intimate indie-esque titles that EA Originals has launched thus far.

“It’s an honour to be partnering with EA Originals and to have the support of a team with such an incredible track record of releasing ground-breaking new games,” Yosuke Hayashi, executive VP of Koei Tecmo, previously said of the project.

“The EA team fully embraces our creative independence and have become invaluable partners offering both development and publishing support.

“Adding the global resources of EA with our own will help us introduce a new kind of hunting game to a global audience of players and expand our reach into global markets. I’m really looking forward to the day that gamers from around the world can play this new game.”
