Diablo 3 Best Necromancer Build | Season 26

Diablo 3 Best Necromancer Build | Season 26

Using the best Diablo 3 Necromancer build for Season 26 will be absolutely essential for players wanting to push the limits of what’s possible. The better the build, the better the chance you have of topping the Diablo 3 Leaderboards.

Naturally, with every new season you’ll need to reevaluate which builds are worth sticking with, especially for solo greater rift pushing. Unless you’re seriously not fussed in which case you might as well use whatever playstyle you prefer; or alternatively the Angry Chicken Witch Doctor build because it’s just bonkers.

That said, we imagine that if you’re reading this you want to know what Necromancer build to run use in the current season. It doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner, or a seasoned pro, it always helps to assess your options before you start levelling up and beginning that new season grind.

Assuming you’ve read our Diablo 3 Season 26 Tier List, you’ll likely already know the best S Tier builds from the F Tier flops. However, if you read on we’ll take you through everything you need to know to ensure you have the best Necromancer build in Season 26.

Update - Diablo 3 Season 27 has reached the PTR for testing and will arrive on main servers fairly soon. We'll update this Diablo 3 build guide again following the launch of Season 27.

Is The Necromancer Good In Diablo 3 Season 26?

In a word, yes. Assuming you’re dead set on using a Necromancer in Season 26 there are a good few options worth considering for Solo Greater Rift players.

If you were playing in Season 25 you might notice that not a whole lot has changed, despite the removal of the soul shards. That’s because once again, the same three builds top the list.

The Necromancer Legacy of Dreams Corpse Explosion Necromancer build is still the definitive option, and ranks S Tier according to the litany of Diablo 3 experts on Maxroll.gg

Alternatively, the Rathma Army of the Dead Necromancer build and the Legacy of Dreams Poison Scythe Necromancer are also decent A Tier options, just like in Season 26.

Overall, yes, Necromancer is a decent option in Season 26, but it’s also likely to be the same experience as what you had in Season 25.

What is the Best Necromancer Build in Diablo 3 Season 26

As noted previously, the best Necromancer build for Diablo 3 season 26 is the Necromancer LoD Corpse Explosion build. If you’re targeting the highest greater rifts in the game, you can’t go wrong.

Corpse Explosion, for those who don’t know, is the main active skill you’ll be running with, and allows players to “Target an area exploding up to 5 corpses within 11 yards dealing 1050% weapon damage as Physical to enemies within 20 yards”. As such, it’ll do incredible burst damage, which makes up for its severe lack of mobility.

Keep reading, we’ll explain everything you need to set up your Legacy of Dreams Corpse Explosion build, including your gear, active skills, passive skills and more.

Legacy of Dreams Corpse Explosion Gear Setup

First up, you don’t need to worry about set bonuses with your LoD Corpse Explosion Necromancer because you’ll be relying on the Legacy of Dreams Gem.

This means that every legendary item you have equipped increases your damage dealt by 3.75% and reduces your damage taken by 2% – despite not having any set bonuses equipped.

Below you’ll find a list of the best items worth selecting in Season 26 for the best Necromancer build. If you follow the links in the table you’ll also be able to take a closer look at the item stats on the official Diablo 3 website.

Skill Description
Blood is Power After cumulatively losing 100% of your maximum Life, all ability cooldowns are reduced by 20%. This effect cannot reduce an ability’s cooldown more than once for each time that ability is used.
Eternal Torment Your curses cost 50% less Essence and last forever.
Spreading Malediction Receive a 1% damage bonus for each enemy afflicted by one of your curses.
Stand Alone Increase armour by 100%, reduced by 10% for each active minion.

Best Necromancer Follower

We’ll keep this really simple and to the point. You want to choose the Enchantress follower since she is the only viable option to help with cooldown reduction.

Unlike the Templar or Scoundrel, the Enchantress can use Prophetic Harmony to reduce your skills’ cooldowns by 5.00% based on the Enchantress’s Intelligence on her equipment.

Legacy of Dreams Corpse Explosion video build guide

If you want to get really in-depth we suggest having a watch of the below guide from Diablo expert Rhykker in his Necromancer Legacy of Dreams Corpse Explosion build video.

It’s worth noting that whilst the video itself was made some time ago, the build itself is still the same and relevant today. As such, still well worth a watch and worthy of 10 minutes of your time.

Alternative Diablo 3 Necromancer builds in Season 26

As we noted previously in the guide there are two other Necromancer builds worth looking at in Season 26. This might be useful if you’ve been running Legacy of Dreams Corpse Explosion for a few seasons and fancy a change.

The following two builds might not be S-Tier in season 26, but they’re still great options for solo greater rift pushing.

Necromancer Rathma Army of the Dead build

This build is A-Tier in Season 26 and reliant on the Bones of Rathma set and revolves around summoning a bunch of minions for near-constant damage. It’s good fun, and if you fancy knowing more about this build, follow the link below.

Necromancer Legacy of Dreams Poison Scythe build

This build is another A-Tier option in Season 26 and once again reliant on the Legacy of Dreams gem. Although this time it’s used in conjunction with the Masquerade of the Burning Carnival set. This build isn’t the strongest, but it’s great for speed runs and significantly doesn’t rely on huge cooldowns. It’s just all-round good fun, and very different. So well worth a look, despite not being the best of the bunch. Follow the link below to learn more.
