Diablo 3 Best Barbarian Build | Season 27

Diablo 3 Best Barbarian Build | Season 27

Using the best Diablo 3 Barbarian build for Season 27 will be absolutely essential for players wanting to push the limits of what’s possible. The better the build, the better the chance you have of topping the Diablo 3 Leaderboards.

Naturally, with every new season you’ll need to reevaluate which builds are worth sticking with, especially for solo greater rift pushing. Unless you’re seriously not fussed in which case you might as well use whatever playstyle you prefer; or alternatively the Angry Chicken Witch Doctor build because it’s just bonkers.

That said, we imagine that if you’re reading this you want to know what Barbarian build to run use in the current season. It doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner, or a seasoned pro, it always helps to assess your options before you start levelling up and beginning that new season grind. Especially when new seasonal features like Soul Shards, Ethereal Weapons – and now Sanctified Powers in Season 27 – can massively alter the meta too.

Assuming you’ve read our Diablo 3 Tier List for Season 27, you’ll likely already know the best S Tier builds from the F Tier flops. However, if you read on we’ll take you through everything you need to know to ensure you have the best Barbarian build Assuming you’ve read our Diablo 3 Tier List for Season 27, you’ll likely already know the best S Tier builds from the F Tier flops.

Is The Barbarian Good In Diablo 3 Season 27?

It used to be that the Barbarian wasn’t that good. In Season 26 not a single Barbarian build was able to crack the S-Tier rankings.

Thankfully, that’s all changed in Season 27. Barbarians now have two S-Tier options and a couple of A-Tier too.

So we guess the Barbarian is a much better option in Season 27 than it ever has before.

What is the Best Barbarian Build in Diablo 3 Season 27

The best Barbarian class in season 26 was the Legacy of Dreams Hammer of the Ancients build, and in Season 27, it’s once again the best, albeit now with a buff thanks to the Sanctified Powers that have been introduced.

This is also pretty useful since it’s one of the easier Barb builds to use in comparison to the alternative options (more on those further down).

Keep reading, we’ll explain everything you need to set up your Legacy of Dreams Hammer of the Ancients build, including your gear, active skills, passive skills and more.

Legacy of Dreams Hammer of the Ancients Gear Setup

To begin we don’t need to worry about set bonuses because this Barbarian build is reliant on the Legacy of Dreams Gem.

This means that every legendary item you have equipped increases your damage dealt by 3.75% and reduces your damage taken by 2% – despite not having any set bonuses equipped. This also goes without saying but you do not want to have more than one set item, as the set bonus will nullify the LoD gem.

Below you’ll find a list of the best items worth selecting in Season 26 for this Barbarian build. If you follow the links in the table you’ll also be able to take a closer look at the item stats on the official Diablo 3 website.

Season 27 Sanctified Powers

In Season 27 Blizzard is adding a new type of consumable item called Angelic Crucibles. Once uncovered by Nephalem, these heavenly artifacts can be used to Sanctify any equippable Legendary item. Sanctifying an item reforges it to have perfect Ancient-level stats on all affixes while also preserving the item’s Legendary Power.

However, it also adds one of three new Sanctified Powers unique to each class. For our Barbarian Build, the best power to opt for is surprisingly not the Sanctified Hammer of the Ancients power. Instead it’s potentially better to opt for the Sanctified Whirlwind. Here’s what it does:

  • Whirlwind pulls in and holds all enemies within 25 yards.

This Sanctified Power wis great for pulling enemies towards you, making your normal Hammer of the Ancients power even more devastating because the power will scoop up and bring your enemies closer to you. Of course, if you do opt for the Hammer of the Ancients Sanctified power, you’ll also be blessed with every tenth cast of Hammer of the Ancients unleashing a powerful shockwave for extra damage.

As for which Legendary item we would sanctify, we’d personally opt for the Barbarians’s main weapon, Remorseless.

Best Barbarian Follower

For the Barbarian we recommend using the Templar follower as its additional healing capabilities.

Unlike the  Scoundrel or Enchantress, the Templar is able to use the Guardian ability, which should come in handy for this A-Tier build.

For those who don’t know, Guardian allows players to essentially cheat death, which will provide additional safety in the game’s hardcore endgame. Here’s a quick explainer of how it works:

“When you take fatal damage, the Templar rushes to your aid, knocking back enemies within 15 yards, healing you for 15.00% Life based on the Templar’s Strength, and shielding you from all damage for 5 seconds.”
