Diablo 3 Best Barbarian Build | Season 26

Diablo 3 Best Barbarian Build | Season 26

Using the best Diablo 3 Barbarian build for Season 26 will be absolutely essential for players wanting to push the limits of what’s possible. The better the build, the better the chance you have of topping the Diablo 3 Leaderboards.

Naturally, with every new season you’ll need to reevaluate which builds are worth sticking with, especially for solo greater rift pushing. Unless you’re seriously not fussed in which case you might as well use whatever playstyle you prefer; or alternatively the Angry Chicken Witch Doctor build because it’s just bonkers.

That said, we imagine that if you’re reading this you want to know what Barbarian build to run use in the current season. It doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner, or a seasoned pro, it always helps to assess your options before you start levelling up and beginning that new season grind.

Assuming you’ve read our Diablo 3 Season 26 Tier List, you’ll likely already know the best S Tier builds from the F Tier flops. However, if you read on we’ll take you through everything you need to know to ensure you have the best Barbarian build in Season 26.

Update - Diablo 3 Season 27 has reached the PTR for testing and will arrive on main servers fairly soon. We'll update this Diablo 3 build guide again following the launch of Season 27.

Is The Barbarian Good In Diablo 3 Season 26?

In a word, no. In Season 26 not a single Barbarian build is able to crack the S-Tier rankings.

There are a handful of semi-decent A-Tier options for the Barb, but realistically when it’s the only Diablo 3 class that doesn’t crack S-Tier, it’s hard to argue this is a good season for Barbarians.

What is the Best Barbarian Build in Diablo 3 Season 26

As noted previously, the Barbarian class isn’t the greatest in season 26. That said, the best of the bunch is probably the Legacy of Dreams Hammer of the Ancients build, in part because it’s the easiest barb build to use in comparison to the alternative options (more on those further down).

Keep reading, we’ll explain everything you need to set up your Legacy of Dreams Hammer of the Ancients build, including your gear, active skills, passive skills and more.

Legacy of Dreams Hammer of the Ancients Gear Setup

To begin we don’t need to worry about set bonuses because this Barbarian build is reliant on the Legacy of Dreams Gem.

This means that every legendary item you have equipped increases your damage dealt by 3.75% and reduces your damage taken by 2% – despite not having any set bonuses equipped. This also goes without saying but you do not want to have more than one set item, as the set bonus will nullify the LoD gem.

Below you’ll find a list of the best items worth selecting in Season 26 for this Barbarian build. If you follow the links in the table you’ll also be able to take a closer look at the item stats on the official Diablo 3 website.

Item Type Name

Best Barbarian Passive Skills

The table below will give you a run-through of the best passive skills to choose from when assembling your Barbarian build.

Ruthless You deal 40% additional damage to enemies below 30% health.
Berserker Rage You deal 25% additional damage while near maximum Fury.
Weapons Master Gain a bonus based on the weapon type of your main hand weapon:

Boon of Bul-Kathos Reduce the cooldowns of your:

Earthquake by 15 seconds.

Call of the Ancients by 30 seconds.

Wrath of the Berserker by 30 seconds.

Best Barbarian Follower

For the Barbarian we recommend using the Templar follower as its additional healing capabilities.

Unlike the  Scoundrel or Enchantress, the Templar is able to use the Guardian ability, which should come in handy for this A-Tier build.

For those who don’t know, Guardian allows players to essentially cheat death, which will provide additional safety in the game’s hardcore endgame. Here’s a quick explainer of how it works:

“When you take fatal damage, the Templar rushes to your aid, knocking back enemies within 15 yards, healing you for 15.00% Life based on the Templar’s Strength, and shielding you from all damage for 5 seconds.”

“I will never succumb to your evil.”

Legacy of Dreams Hammer of the Ancients video guide

If you want to get really in-depth we suggest having a watch of the below guide from Diablo expert Rhykker in his Barbarian LoD HotA build video.

It’s worth noting that whilst the video itself was made during Season 25, the build itself is still the same and still relevant today.

Alternative Diablo 3 Barbarian builds in Season 26

As we noted previously in the guide there are alternative Barbarian options, but none these are still only A-Tier options. Still, if you fancy a change, consider either of the below two builds

Barbarian Raekor Boulder Toss build

This build is A-Tier in Season 26 and can be really fun for players, especially for speedrunning. It’s also worth considering that The Legacy of Raekor set is part of the Haedrig’s Gift for Season 26, making it also one of the easiest builds to acquire and assemble. Something to keep in mind.

That being said, the Raekor is a bit squishy (read: too soft or easily-killed), so might not be everyone’s cup of tea. In fact our reasoning for opting for LoD HotA as the best Barb in Season 26 comes down to it being the easiest to run. So plenty to think about. If you fancy knowing more about this build, follow the link below.

Barbarian Wrath of the Wastes Whilwind Rend build

Another solid A-Tier option in Season 26, but it’s biggest problem is that it’s both not the easiest to use or the easiest to assmble. Of the three A-Tier Barb options in Season 26, this is arguably the third best option. It also struggles in the higher greater rift levels, so might not be for everyone. That being said, if you want to know more, follow the link below.

That’s it – everything you need to know about the best Diablo 3 Barbarian build for Season 26.
