Battlefield 2042 May Be Coming To Xbox Game Pass, Listing Suggests

All signs suggest that Battlefield 2042 could be about to join Xbox Game Pass, after a new listing on the store appeared to be updated to include the Xbox Game Pass logo.

The discovery was spotted by XGP (Via NME) and follows on from a similar discovery last week when several sources also spotted a similar logo update on FIFA 22. Both games will likely be joining EA Play, which comes bundled with Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions.

For the time being EA has not confirmed that the games are coming to Xbox Game Pass, but given that FIFA 22 was recently announced as a PlayStation Plus title for May, it would make sense.

EA recently released update 4.0 for Battlefield 2042, which introduced “hundreds” of bug fixes for the game which has been marred by problems since launching in October.

Last month Tom Henderson released a report which suggested a new Battlefield game is already in development. Supposedly DICE and EA have learned “valuable lessons” from the rocky release of Battlefield 2042, which internally is being described “as a miss.”

The new game will supposedly be some way out from releasing, but Henderson’s sources have suggested that pre-production is underway with a ‘large portion’ of DICE’s staff now working on the title. Likewise, it’s expected that the next title in the series will adopt a “modern/near-future setting”.
