How To Unlock 60 FPS In Apex Legends Mobile For Smooth Gameplay

How To Unlock 60 FPS In Apex Legends Mobile For Smooth Gameplay

Following a lengthy testing beta period, Respawn has finally rolled out Apex Legends Mobile, bringing the developer’s unique brand of battle royale mayhem to iOS and Android devices.

If you’re used to playing the game on console and PC, you’ll no doubt enjoy the benefits of better graphical settings and performance, but on mobile, it’s a bit more stripped back, obviously. That being said you can still tweak those settings to such a degree that you can configure 60fps (or higher in some cases). Of course, it’s entirely dependent on whether your mobile device is up to the challenge, and you’ll find the recommended and minimum specs for both iOS and Android at the bottom of the page.

Assuming you think your device is up to scratch and you fancy playing with a buttery smooth 60fps, read on and we’ll explain what settings you need to tweak before jumping into your next Apex Games.

How To Get 60FPS In Apex Legends Mobile

If you want to play Apex Legends Mobile in 60fps you need to make a few tweaks to the game before you start the game.

Surprisingly, Apex Legends Mobile offers quite a few different settings to play around with, allowing every player to tailor their own settings for the best possible graphical quality and performance options. You have multiple options around graphic quality and frames per second to choose from.

From the main menu navigate to the settings menu, which can be found in the bottom left of the screen. From here you want to open the ‘Graphics & Audio’ tab on the right-hand side, which is where you’ll find ‘Display’ settings. Once you’ve clicked that you’ll be presented with the full array of basic and advanced options you can tweak to suit your own needs. From frame rates to dynamic shadows. Whatever you want.

In order to play Apex Legends Mobile at a smooth 60fps you’ll want to set ‘Frame Rate Control’ to Ultra. Do note: if your device isn’t capable of running at higher settings, these will not show for you. For instance, on an old Pixel 3, we’re only able to see ‘Normal’ and ‘High’ as options. Most modern devices within the last couple of years should have all options available but it is worth keeping in mind.

Likewise, since you’re running a high FPS, it will also mean increased power consumption and should the temperature increase to a high level, you may notice lower FPS from overheating. To counteract this, we’d suggest changing ‘Image Quality Setting’ to Smooth to balance things out. Additionally, if you can, use an external cooling device.
