Overwatch “Winter Wonderland” 2020
Ho, ho, Hoverwatch! Blizzard’s long-running team-based FPS is spreading the holiday spirit with its Winter Wonderland 2020 event. Players can partake in a special 4v4 Freezethaw Elimination mode, where the objective is to freeze the other team solid! This new mode joins in with the previous Winter favorites like Mei’s Snowball Offensive, Yeti Hunt, and Snowball Deathmatch. There’s also a handful of weekly challenges, holiday skins, and other festive cosmetics to grab. Get in on the fun from now until Jan. 5th, 2021.
Fortnite “Operation Snowdown”
It’s no surprise to see Fortnite offering up a ton of holiday content, as the battle royale game has been providing all sorts of Wintery fun for years now. This year, fans can check out the Operation Snowdown event, which is chock-full of snowy goodness. There’s a wealth of Winter skins to pick from, including reindeer, candy canes, snowmen, and more. There’s also festive back bling, free caroling emote, snow-themed weapons, and plenty more. Even the Battle Royale Island itself is getting covered in thick snowfall! Dauntless “Frostfall 2020”
Why not take a break from the monster-hunting and have some holiday fun in Dauntless’ Frostfall 2020 event? Ozz has opened up a holiday shop, and you can purchase some fancy Winter-themed goodies by collecting Frostfall coins. To earn these coins, take part in snowball fights, snow fort building, and more. There are even gifts scattered around the island just waiting for you to crack open! Grab your Winter sweater and slip on your limited-time mittens for Dauntless’ Frostfall 2020 event, which runs until Jan. 4th, 2021.
Destiny 2 “The Dawning”
Destiny 2 is ready to give you an out-of-this-world holiday experience with its Dawning event. Pretty much every nook and cranny of Destiny 2 has been given a Winter makeover. You can pick up a Legendary Fusion Rifle Glacioclasm, unlock a Winter-themed Exotic ship, collect presents strewn about, and earn some recipes that’ll warm you up during the cold winter months! The Dawning is running right now and will wrap up come Jan. 5th, 2021.
Rocket League “Frosty Fest”
While you might not think driving around in icy conditions is a smart move, it just makes things more fun in the world of Rocket League! Fans of the sports/racing hybrid are enjoying Frosty Fest right now, which brings a ton of holiday cheer with it. There’s an absolute litany of items to decorate your vehicles with, from giant bows and Christmas lights to peppermint hubcaps and more. There’s also limited-time modes you’ll only find during the holiday season and a snow-covered version of the Throwback Stadium! Get some chains on your tires and hit the frosty fields today, as you only have until Jan. 4th, 2021 to celebrate!
Apex Legends “Mirage’s Holo-Day Bash”
EA and Respawn are going all-out with their special holiday event for Apex Legends. The star of the show is a limited-time mode called Winter Express, which is a non-Battle Royale experience where three teams of three aim to capture points across the map. There are also event challenges that offer up holiday-themed cosmetics, a Double XP weekend, the “Mirage Voyage” Town Takeover, and other snow-filled activities! All of the Wintery fun runs until Jan. 7th, 2021.
Pokemon GO Holiday 2020 Event
There’s always something new to experience in the world of Pokemon GO, and that includes plenty of holiday action. Starting December 22nd, 2020, Trainers will spot various Pokemon wearing Santa hats and more roaming about the game world. There’s also a new batch of ice-themed Pokemon just waiting to be caught. Trainers can outfit themselves with some holiday gear at the in-game shop, collect holiday stickers at PokeStops, and even participate in some event-exclusive Field Research! Enjoy it all until Dec. 31st, 2020.
