Games Coming In 2022 That We Can’t Wait To Play

It’s the start of another thrilling year for gaming, with plenty of epic titles to dig into. 2021 was exceptional, as beloved franchises like Halo returned and innovative games like Deathloop changed the landscape forever. 2022 is already stacked full of titles too, but there are a special few that look extraordinary. If you’re unsure what to keep an eye out for this year, we’ve got you covered. Here are the biggest titles we’re looking forward to in 2022.

Sifu

2022 biggest games

Sifu is a martial arts epic in which age is your greatest strength.

The spiritual successor to 2017’s Absolver, Sifu is shaping up to be an action odyssey. Taking inspiration from Yuen Woo-ping, Jackie Chan, Tsui Hark, and John Woo (for good measure), Sifu isn’t just about laying the beatdown on your enemies; it’s a celebration of martial arts representation on the big screen. With a seemingly masterful combat system, gorgeous environments, and white knuckle tension, Sifu looks to deliver blistering fun with its fists of fury.

Elden Ring

2022 biggest games

With a world created by Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R. R. Martin, Elden Ring is one of the most anticipated titles of 2022.

Its state was shrouded in myth for what seemed like an eternity, but yes, Elden Ring does actually exist. And it’s right around the corner, too. Developer FromSoftware’s latest entry into its self-created ‘Soulsborne’ genre could be one of next-gen’s best titles. With an enormous open world, dense lore, and frightening foes at every turn, Elden Ring is pulling out all the stops to impress. We’ll see you out there in the Lands Between, Tarnished one.

Saints Row

biggest games of 2022

Saints Row is getting a reboot, but don’t expect any less chaos.

Rather than continue the universe that contained the outrageous Gat Out of Hell and Saints Row 4, developer Deep Silver Volition is rebooting the Saints Row franchise with a bang. Taking things back to a more grounded level — in the spirit of the series’ first two entries — Saints Row could be a much needed revitalization for the franchise. Don’t worry, you can still get up to all kinds of nonsense, as the initial gameplay footage has some truly ridiculous splashes of carnage. We can’t wait to cause some chaos.

Gran Turismo 7

2022 video games gran turismo 7

Drive your PS5 to the limit with Gran Turismo 7’s glistening race cars.

Perhaps the biggest racing game franchise in the world, Gran Turismo has been notably absent for quite some time. Gran Turismo 6 released in 2013 for the PlayStation 3, leaving plenty of time for developer Polyphony Digital to work on their next racing opus. Now, armed with the power of the PlayStation 5, Gran Turismo 7 will be an astounding showcase of the console’s capabilities, while providing players with the franchise’s signature penchant for satisfying and precise racing physics.

Hogwarts Legacy

2022 biggest games

Hogwarts Legacy will let you live out life as a wizard in the 1800s.

Portkey Games and Avalanche Software’s Hogwarts Legacy was first revealed back in 2020, but news on the title has been fairly low-key since then. Originally due to be released last year, the Harry Potter-themed experience will finally arrive at some point in 2022. Set in the 1800s, Hogwarts Legacy will put players in the shoes of a custom-created student as they learn the potent power of magic first hand. As well as including a compelling open world, Hogwarts Legacy will also pit players against other wizards as they discover their potential.

Gotham Knights

biggest video games 2022

Batman is gone, so it’s up to you to save Gotham City.

When the Arkham franchise concluded with Arkham Knight in 2015, fans of the Batman universe were unsure if they’d ever return to Gotham City. Thankfully, Warner Bros Montréal is bringing players a barnstorming co-op experience, with the Bat-Family at the centre of the action. Set in a world where Batman has seemingly died, it is up to Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, and Red Hood to protect the citizens of Gotham City. You’ll be punching criminals with the same excellent combat, but expect plenty of new additions in the mix as well.
