Fortnite’s No-Building Mode Might Become Permanent

Fortnite’s No-Building Mode Might Become Permanent

Epic Games kicked off Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 by removing building from the game’s default battle royal mode. A bold move given the intricate building mechanics has become synonymous with the game and especially elite-level players. At the time it wasn’t entirely clear if this was simply a move by Epic to create a bit of extra buzz around the new season launch, especially given that the move wasn’t made as part of the game’s wider lore/narrative. However, it would seem that the change has proved so popular that Fortnite could be set to make the change a permanent addition to the game itself.

Fortnite dataminer @TweaBR (Via VGC) appears to have discovered a series of leaked modes that have building switched off and suggests that the ‘Limited Time’ no building mode might not be quite so limited. As fans can see from the tweet below, modes such as Solo, Duo, and Trio now all include the option to have building switched off.

In addition, fellow Fortnite dataminer Hypex has noticed that the game’s loading screens have also changed.

The wording on loading screens now reads “In modes with building enabled” which would suggest the introduction of a permanent no building option beyond March 29; the date for when it’s believed the game’s default BR mode will reintroduce building features.

Would you like to see no building become the default option for Fortnite moving forward? Or do you think building needs to remain an integral part of the core game to ensure Fortnite remains significantly different from the likes of Apex Legends and Call of Duty: Warzone?
